This has been so much fun reflecting on all of the beautiful weddings that we have been so lucky to be a part of this past year. We can’t thank you enough for choosing us to be your photographer. Similar to what we did last year, we wanted to pull out some of our personal favorite photographs or cute wedding details as our 2012 wedding superlatives! We really do feel so fortunate, because literally every couple we shoot is so sweet and beautiful and every wedding reflects their personality perfectly. Every year keeps getting better and better and we can’t wait to see what is in store for 2013!
First up is some of our favorite floral bouquets! We obviously have a special place in our heart for pink peonies and soft pretty colors. Congratulations to Lindsey + Shaun’s Orchid Island wedding, Jenny + Chris’s wedding at Ponte Verde Inn and Sarah + Brandon’s Disney wedding. Also a huge thank you to the talented florists who crafted them!
When we were trying to think of an epic bridal party photograph, Haley and Ron’s wedding at Windsor was the first that came to mind. We love how the clean white chapel and the pastel bridal party colors all came together.
Next is one of the most delicious categories, the prettiest wedding cakes. These cakes were so beautiful I would almost feel bad eating them. almost. Great job to Kathy + Kevin, Gabrielle + Paul and Christie + Stephen on having not only tasty, but beautiful wedding cakes!
Favorite Ring Shots
Whenever we get a chance to break out our macro lens, it makes us pretty happy. We like to have fun getting a little creative with your wedding rings in settings that coordinate with your wedding location. Here are some of our favorites from the urban glitter editorial shoot, Elizabeth and Mike’s Windsor wedding, Heather and Jared’s Biltmore wedding and Shana’s engagement session.
These were some of our favorite wedding day footwear of 2012! We loved Haley’s elegant Badgley Mischkas, Heather’s white flower Christian Louboutin sandals and Shawna’s glittery Jimmy Choos.
One of the first details we shoot at any wedding is the bride’s gown. We were totally in love with Elizabeth’s whimsical Oscar de la Renta gown, Lindsey’s pretty Lazaro gown and Suzanne’s classic Monique Lhuillier gown. All of which had gorg veils as well!
Bridesmaids dresses have historically gotten a pretty bad rap, thanks to some pretty ugly options out there. However, these pale pink dresses are so pretty! We loved how all of the different styles came together at Haley’s Windsor wedding. Also featured below is another favorite collection of assorted color dresses from Cristina and Nathan’s wedding at Knowles Memorial Chapel.
Favorite New Wedding Venues
We did a lot of traveling all over Florida this year and got the chance to shoot at some new awesome venues! Here are some of our favorites starting with Comber Hall in Coral Gables, Mckee Gardens in Vero Beach, The Ballroom at Church Street in Downtown Orlando, the Powel Crosley Estate in St. Pete, Casa Feliz in Winter Park, Isleworth in Windemere, and the historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. All were beautiful and we would love to shoot more weddings there again!
Pretty Engagement Session
One of our favorite engagement sessions was Elizabeth and Eric‘s modern Costa d’Este Hotel engagement here in Vero Beach. On Labor Day Weekend, Style me Pretty Florida featured this shoot as well!
Pretty Wedding Stationary
Since Nicki and I both have backgrounds in graphic design, we get a little giddy when it comes to the graphic design elements of weddings. This bride, Elaine, is a graphic designer who did an amazing job with the program, escort cards, invites and other details! We loved how the muted seafoam colors and the perfect hint of ocean detail all came together at their Vero Beach Hotel wedding. We were also so happy to see this wedding featured on June Bug Weddings.
Most Elegant Wedding
Suzanne’s wedding inspired us to add a new category this year, the most elegant wedding. Everything about her wedding was really just so perfect and timeless from her hair and dress down to the calligraphy and mercury vases.
Funniest Bride Ever
One of our favorite categories, the coveted funniest bride ever award. Shawna is so pretty she could probably be in some other category as well, but she has the unique ability to transform from a beautiful to funny bride all in the same wedding dress. She and Jack both had us laughing pretty regularly on our golf cart tour of the Moorings club and boating around on their engagement session. They are both so happy and we are sure they will have lots of laughs as husband and wife.
Toni and Colby are just really pretty people, inside and out and their wedding was such a great reflection of them. We loved all the wine details and how everything coordinated with the beautiful venue, the Powel Crosley Estate.
Our job is great because we get to crash/photograph a lot of sweet wedding receptions. There is always the outgoing wedding guest that usually gets the party going, but rarely is it the bride. Brooke takes the cake for the bride that got down the most on her wedding day. I was especially impressed with her reckless disregard for her wedding dress’s safety as she wormed to Ice Ice baby on the dance floor, haha.
We had fun designing a glittery urban editorial shoot that was featured on the fabulous Wedding Chicks blog this year. Our models Sara and Rob did a wonderful job and it always makes us smile to see images from this shoot popping up on pinterest as inspiration for soon-to-be brides’ weddings.
Here is to an amazing 2012! See you all next year!
