Brianne & J.J. | Beach Wedding

Congrats first wedding of 2012! What a way to kick off the new year with a simple and sweet wedding ceremony at the Humiston park beach. It was just me, the couple and a handful of their closest family members. They decided to keep their wedding guest list small, so that they could celebrate their new life together in Spain! They were such naturals in front of the camera, and she looked so beautiful in her dress. Of course she also rocked her pink Toms – the official shoe of Vitalic Photo, haha.

jessica & ryan | vero beach engagement

So if you’ve ever been to Vero Beach, you know one of the most delicious dining establishments is the Ocean Grill on Ocean Drive.  Well this also happens to be the location where Ryan decided to pop the question to his super sweet girlfriend Jessica!  So what better place to start their engagement session then at the very same beach.  It’s also a nice little get away for them since he is currently stationed in boring Oklahoma.  (Fun Fact: I use to live in Oklahoma, weird.)  I had a great time talking with them about their wedding in DC and exploring all of the little hidden spots along Ocean Drive.  I’m pretty sure they haven’t nailed down a photographer for their wedding yet, and I hear DC is just lovely in April *hint hint*

amanda & travis | engagement photography

This was such a fun engagement session, because 1) obviously cute people and 2) Travis was secure enough in his manhood that he was open to try any of the weird things we asked of him. Take exhibit A for instance, where he had no problem at all laying down in a random patch of flowers. Oooor blowing dandelions. I think it’s a great sign Amanda, you’ve got a good catch : )

2011 Wedding Superlatives

A few months back we were at a wedding and the bride was cracking us up, we couldn’t stop LOLing the whole day.  We kept saying, “She wins the award for funniest bride ever hands down.”  And that’s how we came up with the idea to do a weddings superlative post at the end of the year.  We love each and every one of our brides, you are all special to us of course, but these are just a few categories that stick out in our minds as we reflect over the past year.

Now don’t let this sweet demure pose fool you, she is the comedic relief we were speaking of.  I can’t even remember what Jane was talking about all day, but I know it was funny.

Our favorite groosmen attire was from Sara + Rob’s wedding.  Their seersucker suits were sharp (something my Mom would say but it works) and the colors of the ties were pretty perfect.

Our favorite ring shot comes from my childhood BFF’s wedding.  She got ready at her Grandmother’s house and behind the bedroom door there was a map of the world with pins in all of the places she had been.  I probably couldn’t even count as high as the amount of pins that were on that board.

I (Nicki) loved loved loved Lauren‘s dress and accessories.  It was simple but detailed and ultra feminine — her sash was the perfect accent and her veil was so very classic bride.

Chrissy loved Alicia’s Monique Lhullier gown — the sweetheart neckline and almost letterpress-like fabric made it unique yet classic.

All brides are happy (or at least 99.5%), but Clare was in a constant state of elation the entire day and inspired our “Happiest Bride Ever” title.  She was literally giddy, I think we even saw her jump up and down when she was getting ready.  It was refreshing and kept smiles on our faces all day long.

You saw from above that Lauren has great taste, so it doesn’t surprise us that her bridesmaids dresses were just as stylish.  With J.Crew, I’m not sure how you could go wrong.  They all wore different dress styles in the same cool gray color, and their yellow pashminas added a softness that went so well with the cool January weather.

Onto our favorite reception decor from this year.  We had quite a few contenders, all of our brides have been amazing wedding planners, we are excited for every single wedding to see what ideas everyone comes up with.  Caitlin & Charlie’s wedding was orchestrated by the bride and her mom, and they did an amazing job.  We loved the sheer floral tablecloth overlays, the glass bead chargers, mercury glass votives and of course all of the pink peonies.

We also designed and put together our first styled shoot. We chose some of our favorite details, colors and styles for an editorial type shoot that allow our creativity to shine through and maybe provide ideas for brides planning their own weddings. We have more of these shoots slated for next year with some pretty cool ideas, so keep an eye out. : )

Shelley Stipes - We were there for Lauren and Jesse’s beautiful wedding day! Have known Lauren since she was a toddler….what a beautiful bride! Love these photos.

Janna - Beautiful!!!! I need to come to Florida and workshop with you guys!!!
